New Birth Experiences is a midwifery practice that was opened by Dina Aurichio, a midwife with decades of experience. Dina was inspired to start the practice after having her first son in a hospital setting. She knew there had to be a better way, and she was determined to help other parents find it. While her second son was born at home, she was able to take control of the situation through her birth classes. Her third delivery was a home birth, and soon, she knew what direction she wanted to take her career. She now works with fellow midwife Jamie Davison-Ortiz to provide out-of-birth deliveries for parents around New Jersey.
Services
With New Birth Experiences, you will receive total prenatal care from the very start of your pregnancy. Because your midwife will be preparing you for a home birth, they will approach these appointments differently than a standard OB. While they will still monitor your baby’s growth and your health, they will treat each appointment as a conversation where you will be educated on nutrition and recommendations. You will also be given assistance with alternative therapies such as exercise and meditation.
As you near your delivery date, your midwife will begin to teach you how you can prepare your space for childbirth. They will let you invite anyone you want to be by your side through the process. The center will let you rent birth pools and can prepare you for hydrotherapy. Following your baby’s birth, they will remain for a few hours and clean up so you can focus on bonding with your newborn.
Specialty
If you want an out-of-hospital delivery but aren’t quite sure about a home birth, it’s ok. You can speak to your New Birth Experiences midwife about a birth center delivery. They will guide you through the different options in the area. They also assist in your labor just as they would in home birth. With this option, you will be able to leave several hours after delivery, and your midwife will perform your postpartum appointments in your home.
