About Branchburg Lactation

Branchburg Lactation comprises a team of dedicated International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants. The women-owned, private practice serves families all across New Jersey. Most of the women have been assisting new parents for over 15 years. They aim to provide compassionate, judgment-free care that will let you breastfeed confidently.

The center allows you to book your appointment online and gives you the ability to schedule a telehealth visit. If you have insurance, your plan will likely cover 80-90% of your visit. If you’re unsure of your plan or need help determining whether you’re in their service area, you can email them, and they’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Services

When you book an appointment with the team, you can choose a telehealth or an in-person visit. The consultants approach each case with complete understanding. They urge you not to clean your home before your visit because they know you’re a postpartum mom in recovery. During your visit, they will review your health history, pregnancy, and birth experience. They will provide a nipple examination and check for lumps and abnormalities. They will then assess your infant to see if there might be tongue tie or muscle tightness.

Your consultant will weigh your baby and then evaluate a feeding. They might assist you with positioning or discuss supplements. They will again weigh your baby afterward so they can check the intake. You will receive a plan to troubleshoot issues, and they will schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure the problems are resolved.

Specialty

While the team specializes in assisting with issues after your baby is born, they can work with you during pregnancy so you feel prepared for those initial feedings. They also offer appointments to teach you everything you need to know about pumping so you can return to work.
