About the Tree of Life Doula

When giving birth, Cindy Terranova has personal experience with nearly every style. She’s given birth five different times and has gone through everything from a premature hospital birth to a midwife-assisted home water birth. She believes that people deserve to have options regarding their delivery, and it’s her mission to prepare people for whatever birth they choose to have!
She provides evidence-based education and lactation services so you can have the experience that works for you. Near the end of last year, she had to put her services on a brief pause to welcome their family’s seventh baby, but in the Spring of 2024, she plans to be back to work with both families and birth professionals to bring them options.
Services
Cindy has created a comprehensive childbirth class offering information tailored to your unique situation. She’s created a hybrid course that you can easily fit into your busy schedule. You’ll go through two in-person sessions where you will practice your labor skills and receive gentle feedback. You and your partner can watch five weeks of online videos together.
You’ll also have four video chats with your instructors and mentoring from Cindy herself. While these courses provide evidence-based information for every kind of labor, people can use it to count toward the required courses for the freestanding New Jersey birth center, Our Birthing Center.

Cindy is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She includes breastfeeding assistance and newborn care in each course. She’s also currently working to expand her practice to provide one-on-one support.
